Jiangjun Ditch Introduction
Jiangjun Pavilion is the residence of Lu Chengjin, who was granted the title of General of Military Valor during the late Qing Dynasty. Lu Chengjin, courtesy name Weili and styled Fenting, was born in the second year of Daoguang and died in the twentieth year of Guangxu. He was born into a poor family and, as he grew older, he enlisted in the military. He achieved merit by participating in naval operations against pirates and was quickly promoted. During the Xianfeng and Tongzhi eras, Chengjin first participated in suppressing the Small Knife Society bandits who had occupied Xiamen, engaging in fierce battles at Zhonggang and Jinguimei, nearly destroying the bandit ships. He soon led a campaign to recover Xiamen and hunted down the remaining factions, earning numerous accomplishments and promotions to the rank of deputy general.
