Low Carbon Education Center, Eco Park Introduction
The "Environmental Park Low Carbon Education Center" is the first exhibition hall in Kinmen that integrates environmental education and low carbon issues, presented through interactive experiences. The exhibition hall is located next to the large bus parking lot at Xiangyi Airport, welcoming visitors of all ages to join hands and explore the low carbon education center, discovering Kinmen from different perspectives on low carbon living. Facilities inside the center include: - Environmental Park Interpretation Area: Introduces the past, present, and future of the Environmental Park, as well as detailing the history of clay mining in Kinmen. - Circular Theater: Offers seating for forty people and screens the panoramic short film "Grandma's Memories," which is played five times daily at 10:00, 11:00, 14:00, 15:00, and 16:00. - Low Carbon Exploration Hall: Offers interactive experiences that help visitors understand carbon footprints, water resources, types of energy, green buildings, recycling, and the achievements of Kinmen in promoting a low carbon island. Outdoor facilities include: - Green Roof / Green Hedge: The former is located above the circular theater and is the first green roof in Kinmen that employs a thin-layer greening method, while the latter is on the side of the exhibition hall, both primarily providing insulation and cooling effects for the exhibition hall. - Renewable Energy Facilities: Installed on the rooftop are 7.5 kW solar panels and a 3 kW wind turbine, complemented by energy storage batteries to make full use of renewable energy.
