Qionglin Tsai Clan Ancestral Hall Introduction
Built in the 8th year of the Ming Jiajing era (1529), the exquisite decorative motifs inside and outside the building are considered the crown of ancestral halls in Kinmen. The ridge, gable walls, and waterwheel barrier feature intricate wood carvings and clay sculptures. The brackets under the main beams are engraved with the four characters of the Cai family ancestral teachings: loyalty, filial piety, integrity, and chastity. Numerous plaques hang in the main hall, showcasing the family's prominence. A lion-shaped rock statue, a rare sight, is embedded in the outer wall behind the building.
