Qionglin Cai Family Temple Introduction
Built in the 8th year of the Jiajing era of the Ming Dynasty (1529), its exquisite decorations both inside and outside are considered the crown of ancestral halls in Kinmen. The ridge, gable, and waterwheel dam are adorned with intricate wooden carvings and mud sculptures. The sparrow perches under the cross beams are engraved with the four characters of the Cai clan's ancestral teachings: loyalty, filial piety, integrity, and chastity. The main hall is prominently decorated with numerous plaques, showcasing the prominence of the clan; the outer wall at the back of the building features a rare wind lion god sculpture.
