Qionglin Cai Clan Ancestral Hall Introduction
Built in the 8th year of the Ming Jiajing era (1529), the exquisite decorative motifs inside and outside its architecture are considered the best among the clan temples in Kinmen. The ridge, gable, and waterwheel block are adorned with delicate cut clay and mud sculptures. Under the main beam, a carved bracket features the four characters of the Tsai family ancestral teachings: loyalty, filial piety, integrity, and chastity. Numerous plaques hang high in the main hall, highlighting the prominence of the family. A wind lion god is embedded in the outer wall at the back of the building, which is a rare style.
