Ci Lake Introduction
If you ask where the locals in Kinmen enjoy watching the sunset, Cihu Lake is definitely a top choice! Cihu Lake is located in Jinning Township and was built in 1969 for strategic reasons. The sea is on the outside of the embankment, while the interior part is what we know as Cihu Lake today. Later, a viewing platform was added to make the beautiful scenery of Cihu Lake more welcoming to tourists. In the evening, the orange-red sunset slowly descends from the horizon, and the colorful clouds reflect the distant view of Xiamen across the water, also casting their hues on the former "Guaitiao Fort," creating a unique scene of Cihu Lake. From October to March each year, migratory birds coming to winter in Kinmen gather around Cihu Lake, especially with a large number of cormorants, nearly three to four thousand birds flying home in a V-formation, a spectacular sight that earns much applause for Kinmen!
