Cihu Introduction
If you're looking for a great spot to enjoy the sunset in Kinmen, Cihu is definitely a top choice! Cihu, located in Jinning Township, was built in 1969 for strategic reasons. The Cihu Dike is separated from the sea, while the area within the dike is now Cihu Lake. Later, a viewing platform was added, making the beautiful scenery of Cihu more appealing to visitors. In the evening, the orange-red sun slowly sets on the horizon, with colorful clouds reflecting the distant views of Xiamen across the water, as well as casting their glow on the former "Railroad Fort" used for repelling landings, creating a unique scene of Cihu. From October to March each year, migratory birds coming to Kinmen for the winter gather around Cihu, particularly cormorants, with nearly three to four thousand birds flying home in a V formation, providing a spectacular sight that has garnered much acclaim for Kinmen!
