Ci Lake Introduction
If you ask where the best place for locals in Kinmen to enjoy the sunset is, Cihu Lake should definitely be at the top of the list! Cihu Lake is located in Jinning Township and was built in 1969 for strategic reasons. The lake is separated from the sea by a dam, with the current Cihu Lake being the area inside the dam. Later, a viewing platform was added to make the lake's beautiful scenery more appealing to visitors. In the evening, the orange-red sunset slowly descends from the horizon, painting the distant view of Xiamen across the water and casting its glow on the old "Guanxia Fort," creating a scene unique to Cihu Lake. From October to March each year, migratory birds come to Cihu Lake to spend the winter, especially cormorants, with nearly three to four thousand birds flying back to their nests in a V formation, a spectacular sight that earns Kinmen plenty of applause!
