Cih Lake Introduction
If you ask where the people of Kinmen enjoy watching the sunset, Ci Lake is definitely a top local choice! Ci Lake is located in Jinning Township and was built in 1969 for strategic considerations. The lake is bordered by the sea on the outside of the dike, while the part within the dike is now Ci Lake. Later, a viewing platform was added to enhance the scenic beauty of Ci Lake for visitors. In the evening, the orange-red sun slowly sets from the horizon, with the colorful clouds reflecting the distant view of Xiamen on the opposite shore, also casting their hues on the former "Guidian Fort" from the anti-landing era, creating a unique scenery at Ci Lake. From October to March each year, migratory birds seeking winter in Kinmen gather around Ci Lake, especially cormorants, with nearly three to four thousand birds flying in a V-formation back to their nests, an impressive sight that earns Kinmen much applause!
