Cihu Introduction
If you are looking for a great spot to enjoy the sunset in Kinmen, Cihu Lake is undoubtedly a top choice! Located in Jinning Township, Cihu Lake was constructed in 1969 for strategic reasons, and the lake is the area inside the embankment, while the sea area lies outside the dam. A viewing platform was later added to make the beautiful scenery of Cihu Lake more accessible to visitors. In the evening, the orange-red sun slowly sets from the horizon, with colorful clouds reflecting the distant view of Xiamen across the water, and casting a glow on the "Guiliaosai" where the re-landing operations took place, creating a unique landscape that belongs to Cihu Lake. From October to March each year, migratory birds come to Cihu Lake for the winter, especially cormorants, with nearly three to four thousand birds flying in a V formation as they return to their nests, making for a spectacular sight that has earned Kinmen much acclaim!
