Gugang Lake Scenic Area Introduction
Gugang Lake Scenic Area is located at the southwest corner of Jincheng Township. Gugang Lake is the only remaining natural lake in Kinmen. Surrounded by Liang Mountain, Hong Mountain, and Damao Mountain, it is embraced by lush greenery. The willows along the lakeside sway in the wind, and the Eurasian Hoopoe, a bird not found on the island of Taiwan, often forages on the lawns. It is also a gathering place for various waterfowl. The beautiful scenery of Gugang Lake can calm the mind, making it suitable for children to run and jump on the grass, as well as for leisurely afternoon strolls and visits to Gugang Tower, providing a delightful travel experience. Gugang Tower is an exquisite, traditional building situated on Gugang Lake, constructed in 1964 by Mr. Chuang Wunann, a painter from Tamsui, Taipei, a temple renovation expert, and an antique collector. The square three-story structure reflects the green waves of Gugang Lake, resembling an artistic Chinese painting, exuding an elegant aura. Climbing to the top of Gugang Tower offers a panoramic view of the lakeside scenery, with sparkling waves on sunny days, creating a picturesque holiday ambiance.
