Gugang Lake Scenic Area Introduction
Gugang Lake Scenic Area is located in the southwestern corner of Jincheng Township. Gugang Lake is currently the only natural lake remaining in Kinmen, surrounded by Liangshan, Hongshan, and Damao Mountain, embracing the area with greenery. The drooping willows by the lakeside sway with the wind, and the "hoopoe" bird, which cannot be seen on the main island of Taiwan, often forages on the lawns. The surroundings are also a gathering place for various waterfowl. The beautiful scenery of Gugang Lake allows one to feel at peace, making it a great place for children to run and jump on the grass, as well as to take a leisurely stroll in the afternoon or visit Gugang Tower, all of which are wonderful travel experiences. Gugang Tower is an antique-style building located on Gugang Lake, built in 1964 by Mr. Chuang Wu-nan, a painter from Tamsui, Taipei, and an expert in temple repairs and antique collections. The square three-story building reflects with the green waves of Gugang Lake, creating a picturesque scene reminiscent of traditional Chinese painting, exuding an elegant charm. Climbing to the top of Gugang Tower allows for a panoramic view of the lakeside scenery, with shimmering waves on sunny days and a picturesque depiction of leisure during holidays.
