Gugang Lake Scenic Area Introduction
Gugang Lake Scenic Area is located in the southwest corner of Jincheng Township. Gugang Lake is currently the only natural lake remaining in Kinmen, surrounded by lush greenery from Liangshan, Hongshan, and Damao Mountain. The weeping willows by the lake sway gently in the wind, and the bird "Eurasian Hoopoe," not found on Taiwan Island, often forages on the lawn, making it a gathering place for various waterfowl. The beautiful scenery of Gugang Lake provides a serene mood, making it suitable for children to run and jump on the grass, as well as for leisurely walks in the afternoon and visits to Gugang Tower, all of which are great travel experiences. Gugang Tower is an elegant tower located on Gugang Lake, built in 1964 by Mr. Zhuang Wunian, a painter from Tamsui, Taipei, and an expert in temple restoration and antique collection. The square three-story building beautifully reflects the green waves of Gugang Lake, resembling a scene from a traditional Chinese painting, exuding an elegant atmosphere. From the top of Gugang Tower, one can enjoy the beautiful lakeside scenery; on sunny days, the lake sparkles, painting a picturesque setting for a relaxing holiday.
