Gugang Lake Scenic Area Introduction
The Gugang Lake Scenic Area is located in the southwest corner of Jincheng Township. Gugang Lake is currently the only natural lake remaining in Kinmen, surrounded by Liang Mountain, Hong Mountain, and Big Hat Mountain, all embraced by lush greenery. The willow trees by the lakeshore sway with the wind, and the "Eurasian hoopoe," a bird not found on Taiwan Island, often forages on the grass, while various waterfowl gather in the area. The beautiful scenery of Gugang Lake can calm the mind, making it suitable for children to run and play on the grass, and perfect for leisurely afternoon strolls or visiting Gugang Pavilion, providing a wonderful travel experience. On Gugang Lake stands the picturesque Gugang Pavilion, built in 1964 by Mr. Zhuang Wunian, a painter, temple repair expert, and antique collector from Tamsui, Taipei. The square three-story building reflects the green waves of Gugang Lake, creating a beautiful scene akin to a traditional Chinese painting, exuding an elegant atmosphere. Ascending to the top of Gugang Pavilion offers a panoramic view of the lakeside scenery, with shimmering waves and the harmonious blend of lake and mountain painting a tranquil holiday.
