Baoyue Temple Introduction
Baoyue Temple, also known as Nanan Temple, was built during the Ming Dynasty. Originally located next to the Xujjiang Stone Carving Group and the Wentai Pagoda, it is now within the walls of the Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor Distillery. The temple enshrines statues of Guanyin and Luohan. In front of the temple is Baoyue Spring, known for its high-quality water. In 1953, the Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor Distillery was established, and to obtain water for brewing, Baoyue Temple was demolished. The liquor produced after that became the famous Kinmen Kaoliang.
