Baoyue Temple Introduction
Baoyue An, also known as Naan, was built in the Ming Dynasty and originally located next to the Xujing Xiao Wa Stone Carving Group and the Wentai Pagoda, which is now within the walls of the Kinmen Distillery. The temple enshrines statues of Guanyin and Luohan. In front of the temple, there is a spring called Baoyue Spring, known for its excellent water quality. In 1953, the Kinmen Distillery was established, and to secure a water source for brewing, Baoyue An was dismantled. The liquor produced thereafter became the famous Kinmen Kaoliang liquor.
