Baoyue Temple Introduction
Baoyue An, also known as Nan An, was built during the Ming Dynasty. It was originally located next to the Xujiang Xiaowo Stone Carving Group and the Wentai Pagoda, within the walls of today's Kinmen Distillery. The temple enshrined statues of Guanyin and Luohan. In front of the temple is Baoyue Spring, known for its excellent water quality. In 1953, the Kinmen Distillery was established, and to secure the water source for brewing, Baoyue An was demolished. The liquor produced afterwards became the renowned Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor.
