Baoyuán Temple Introduction
Baoyue An, also known as Nanan, was built during the Ming Dynasty. It was originally located next to the Xujing Xiaowo Stone Carvings and the Wentai Pagoda, within the walls of today's Kinmen Distillery. The temple enshrined statues of Guanyin and Luohan. In front of the temple is Baoyue Spring, known for its excellent water quality. In 1953, when the Kinmen Distillery was established, the temple was demolished to obtain a source of water for brewing, and the liquor produced became the famous Kinmen Kaoliang liquor.
