Tai'an Temple Introduction
Main Deity: The Holy Prince Enjun Xianju, also known as Yan Cuo, is worshipped by residents with the surnames Yan and Lu. Lu Ruoteng, who served as Minister of War at the end of the Ming Dynasty, is originally from Xianju. The Tai'an Temple was first built during the Ming Dynasty, and historical records in old Kinmen indicate that there is a memorial hall for the Vice Minister, dedicated to the late Ming Vice Minister Wang Zhongxiao, as well as honoring the late Ming loyalists Zeng Ying, Shen Chenquan, Xu Jiyuan, Gu Chaojian, Xu Fuyuan, and Guo Zhenyi, hence also referred to as the Hall of the Seven Worthies. These seven individuals were scholars and officials who took refuge in Kinmen during the late Ming Dynasty. Today, the Tai'an Temple venerates the Holy Prince Enjun as the guardian deity and also honors Guangze Zunwang, Baosheng Dadi, Chi Fu, King Jinfu, Liu Xingfu, and Wang Su.
