Tai'an Temple Introduction
Main Deity: The Holy Lord Enzhujian, also known as Yan Village, is inhabited by residents with the surnames Yan and Lu. Lu Ruoteng, who served as Minister of War during the late Ming Dynasty, is from the Xianju area. The Tai'an Temple was initially established during the Ming Dynasty. The Old Kinmen Records note that Xianju has a Vice-Minister's Shrine that honors the late Ming Vice-Minister Wang Zhongxiao, as well as Ming loyalists such as Zeng Ying, Shen Chenquan, Xu Jiyun, Gu Chaoyan, Xu Fuyuan, and Guo Zhenyi, which is why it is also referred to as the Shrine of the Seven Worthies. These seven individuals were prominent figures who sought refuge in Kinmen during the late Ming period. Today, the Tai'an Temple venerates the Holy Lord Enzhu as the primary deity, along with Guan Ze Zun Wang, Bao Sheng Da Di, Chi Fu, Jin Fu Wang Ye, the Six Surnames Prince, and Lord Su.
