Tai'an Temple Introduction
Main Deity: Sheng Hou En Zhu Xian Ju, also known as Yan Cuo. The residents are primarily of the Yan and Lu surnames, with Lu Ruo Teng, who served as Minister of War in the late Ming Dynasty, being a local of Xian Ju. The Tai'an Temple was originally established during the Ming Dynasty, and the old records of Kinmen mention a memorial temple for ministers that honors the late Ming minister Wang Zhongxiao, as well as Ming loyalists such as Zeng Ying, Shen Chenquan, Xu Jixu, Gu Zhaojuan, Xu Fuyuan, and Guo Zhenyi, thus it is also referred to as the Seven Sages Temple. The seven individuals were all scholars who had fled to Kinmen during the late Ming period. Today, Tai'an Temple primarily honors Lord Sheng Hou En Zhu as the land deity, along with other deities such as Guangze Zunwang, Baosheng Dadi, Chi Fu, Jin Fu Wang Ye, Liu Xing Fu, and Su Wang Ye.
