Fenglian Mountain Ma Temple Introduction
The temple, dedicated to the worship of "Kai Wu En Zhu" Chen Yuan, is an ancient three-section structure that was rebuilt during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty and is listed as a county-designated historic site. It is said that Chen Yuan frequently manifested to repel pirates and protect the villagers, prompting the court to order the construction of a grand temple with seven courtyards and to grant it the plaque "Fu Ji," posthumously bestowed with the title "Blessed Protector Saint Marquis," which is the origin of the Muma Marquis Temple. Inside the temple, there are ancient plaques of Fu Ji and ancient stone tablets from the Qing Dynasty. Additionally, the dragon and tiger walls on both sides of the temple, as well as the ridge decorations made of coarse and mud sculptures, are intricately and beautifully crafted, all of which are worth a detailed viewing.
