Fong Lien Mountain Ma Horse Temple Introduction
The temple, built in honor of "Kaiwu Eunzhu" Chen Yuan, is a traditional three-section temple structure, reconstructed during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, and is designated as a county historic site. It is said that Chen Yuan often manifested to drive away pirates and protect the villagers, prompting the imperial court to order the construction of a grand temple with seven courtyards, granting the temple the plaque "Fu Ji" and posthumously bestowing the title "Fuyou Shenghou," which is the origin of the Muma Hou Shrine. Inside the temple, there are preserved ancient plaques and steles from the Qing Dynasty, and the dragon and tiger walls on both sides of the temple, along with the beautifully crafted and intricate ridges, are all worth careful viewing.
