Fenglian Mountain Muma Hou Shrine Introduction
This is a three-section traditional temple built to honor "Kai Wu En Zhu" Chen Yuan, which was reconstructed during the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty and designated as a county historic site. It is said that Chen Yuan frequently manifested divine presence to repel pirates and protect the villagers, which led the imperial court to order the construction of a grand temple spanning seven courtyards, bestowing the temple plaque "Fu Ji" and posthumously honoring him as "Fu You Sheng Hou," which is the origin of the Muma Hou Temple. Inside the temple, there are the ancient plaque "Fu Ji" and stone tablets from the Qing Dynasty; additionally, the dragon and tiger walls on both sides of the temple, as well as the intricate and splendid ridge decorations made of glazed tiles and clay sculptures, are all worth a detailed appreciation.
