Ouyang Chongyuan Building Introduction
The western-style building in the Ouzhu settlement is not only beautiful but also the first such building in Kinmen. The founder, Ouyang Zhongyuan, made a fortune while doing business in places such as Singapore and Malaysia and then sent the money back to his hometown in Kinmen to build this building. Completed in 1918, this luxurious western-style house was praised at the time as the "Ouzhu Building" and is also considered a driving force behind the trend of overseas compatriots returning home to build western-style houses.
