The洋樓 in Ouzhu Settlement is not only beautiful but also the first洋樓 in Kinmen. The founder, Ouyang Zhongyuan, made a fortune while doing business in Singapore, Malaysia, and other places, and then sent the money back to his hometown in Kinmen to build this building. Completed in 1918, this luxurious洋樓 was praised at the time as the "Ouzhu Building" and is also considered a driving force behind the trend of overseas Chinese returning to build洋樓.
