Ouyang Zhongyuan Building Introduction
The western-style building in the Ouzhu settlement is not only beautiful but also the first western-style building in Kinmen. Its founder, Ouyang Zhongyuan, made his fortune through business in Singapore, Malaysia, and other locations, and then sent money back to his hometown in Kinmen to construct this building. Completed in 1918, the luxurious western-style building was praised as the "Ouzhu Building" at the time and is also regarded as a driving force behind the trend of overseas Chinese returning home to build western-style houses.
