Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor Museum Introduction

Taiwan's local beverage brand "King Car Beverages" is now open for visits in Zhongli! Whenever the familiar jingle of "Mr. Brown Coffee" plays in our ears, it's likely that the image of a man in a white suit, sporting a thick mustache, holding a coffee cup in one hand and giving a thumbs up with the other, comes to mind. He is the trademark character of King Car's Mr. Brown Coffee, and one of the representative brands of canned coffee in Taiwan. King Car Company established a factory in the Zhongli District of Taoyuan City in 1979 and launched "King Car Root Beer," which caught the attention of consumers. Soon after, a coffee production line was set up in the factory to produce canned coffee, known today as Mr. Brown Coffee, with Mr. Brown serving as the enduring brand image. His Westernized appearance symbolizes its origins in Central and South America, perfectly aligning with the coffee's primary production areas, which was the concept behind King Car's original logo design. In May 1982, the first batch of Mr. Brown Coffee was released, achieving a remarkably high market share, and the company continued to innovate and introduce different coffee flavors, providing consumers with more diverse choices. The green space planning in the Zhongli factory area is quite well-developed, resembling a large park, contrasting with the stereotypical image of factories, and even attracting couples to take wedding photos here.
