Chuan Xiang Restaurant Introduction
Recommended dishes from the 2016 Golden Award-winning restaurant: squid egg and handmade sticky rice sausage. Entering Chuanxiang Gourmet located on Yiyong Street in Bade District, the aroma of sticky rice fills the air, making one feel as if they have returned to their grandmother's traditional courtyard kitchen. The owner hopes to promote old-fashioned street snacks as a way to pass on the wonderful flavors remembered from the past. In today's Taiwan, dining is quite convenient; there’s a snack stand to the left and a noodle shop to the right upon stepping out the door. However, it isn’t that easy to enjoy well-made dishes prepared using traditional techniques. Chuanxiang Gourmet differs from ordinary snack noodle shops, focusing on the sticky rice sausage that those from the 50s and 60s used to enjoy while watching performances at the temple, bringing everyone back to their youthful days through food.
