Taoyuan Ecological Ponds No. 1-4 Introduction
The Eco Pond No. 1-4 features a 350-meter circular walkway, ecological water pools, a log platform, a scenic pavilion, wooden pathways, and other water-related facilities. This setup not only helps the ponds retain their original functions but also increases space for visitors to get closer to nature. The Eco Pond No. 1-4 is divided into two parts, with the larger one serving as a fish pond, home to various unexpected fish species such as crucian carp, tilapia, Taiwan native goby, bluegill, carp, and mantis shrimp. If you're interested in learning more about them, you can find fish illustrations on the pillars of the pavilion for reference. On the other side of the fish pond lies the ecological pond, surrounded by bald cypress, sea olive (also known as the seven-mile fragrance), and willow trees. Strolling along the winding circular pathway allows for a leisurely appreciation of the serene beauty by the pond, and standing on the wooden platform offers glimpses of white herons gracefully gliding low over the water, providing delightful surprises. In the summer, fragrant lotus flowers also color the pond's water vibrantly, ensuring that the water birds don't have all the beauty to themselves. Additionally, there’s a tiered plaza by the pond, which not only serves as a spot to sit and enjoy the scenery but can also function as a small performance venue.
