Taoyuan Ecological Ponds 1-4 Introduction
The Ecological Ponds No. 1-4 feature a 350-meter circular walking path, ecological water pools, wooden platforms, scenic pavilions, boardwalks, and other water-friendly facilities. These additions not only maintain the original functions of the ponds but also provide visitors with a space to connect with nature. The Ecological Ponds No. 1-4 are divided into two parts, with the larger one being a fish pond that hosts various unexpected fish species such as crucian carp, tilapia, Taiwan rosy bitterling, bluegill, carp, and mantis shrimp. There are also fish imprints exhibited on the columns of the pavilion for those interested in learning more about them. On the other side of the fish pond lies an ecological pool embraced by bald cypress, sea holly (also known as sweet osmanthus), and willows. Strolling along the winding circular path provides a leisurely way to appreciate the serene beauty by the pond, and standing on the wooden platform offers a chance to glimpse low-flying egrets, bringing delightful surprises. In the summer, fragrant water lilies also brighten the pond, adding vibrant colors that hardly allow waterfowl to take all the credit. Additionally, there is a tiered plaza by the pond where visitors can sit and enjoy the scenery or use it as a small performance venue.
