Taoyuan Ecological Ponds No. 1-4 Introduction
The Eco Ponds No. 1-4 feature a 350-meter circular walkway, ecological water pools, wooden platforms, scenic pavilions, and wooden walkways, among other water-friendly facilities. These enhancements not only preserve the original functions of the ponds but also create spaces for visitors to connect with nature. The Eco Ponds No. 1-4 are divided into two parts, with the larger section being a fish pond inhabited by various unexpected fish species, including crucian carp, tilapia, Taiwan tilapia, grey mullet, carp, and Mingtan gobies. For those interested in learning about these fish, fish prints are displayed on the pillars of the pavilion for reference. On the other side of the fish pond is an ecological pool surrounded by bald cypress, sea pine (also known as seven-mile fragrance), and willows. Strolling along the winding circular walkway allows visitors to leisurely appreciate the tranquil beauty by the pond; standing on the wooden platform provides opportunities to spot herons gliding through the air, offering delightful surprises. In the summer, fragrant lotus flowers add vibrant colors to the waters, ensuring that water birds do not have the spotlight all to themselves. Additionally, there is a tiered plaza by the pond, which serves as a scenic spot for sitting on the steps and can also be used as a small performance venue.
