Xihu Resort - Yuhua Garden Chinese Restaurant Introduction
Miaoli County Specialty Cuisine Certification Category: Chinese Cuisine; WiFi available; The Xihu Resort is located in Xihu Village, Sanyi Township, Miaoli County (next to the Sanyi Interchange on National Freeway No. 3). Established in 1989 by Mr. Chen Yingsheng, a pioneer in the construction industry in central Taiwan, there is a natural lake called "Dexing Pond" next to the park. Dexing Pond was originally named "Guozi Lake," where frogs gather and inhabit; the croaking of frogs fills the air in summer. The local Hakka pronunciation of frog is "Guozi," which is where the name comes from. In 1959, it was renamed Dexing Pond. Since "Dexing Pond" is located in Xihu Village, Sanyi Township, covering an area of about 10 hectares and surrounded by mountains, the scenery is very beautiful. Its landscape rivals that of West Lake in Hangzhou, China; therefore, local residents also refer to it as "West Lake." Mr. Chen Yingsheng hopes to combine the romantic mist scenery and wood carving art of Sanyi to create a resort famous like Hangzhou’s West Lake, thus naming the park "Xihu Resort."
