West Lake Resort─Imperial Flower Garden Chinese Restaurant Introduction
Miaoli County Specialty Cuisine Certification Category: Chinese Cuisine; WiFi available; West Lake Resort is located in Xihu Village, Sanyi Township, Miaoli County (next to Sanyi Interchange on National Highway 3). Founded in 1989 by the prominent architect Mr. Chen Ying-sheng from Central Taiwan, there is a natural lake called "Dexing Pond" beside the park. Dexing Pond was originally named "Gua Zi Lake," where frogs gather and thrive, causing incessant frog calls in the summer. It gets its name from the Hakka pronunciation of frogs, which is "Gua Zi." In the 48th year of the Republic, it was renamed Dexing Pond. Because "Dexing Pond" is located in Xihu Village, Sanyi Township, covering an area of about 10 hectares, surrounded by mountains, the scenery is quite beautiful, comparable to West Lake in Hangzhou, China. Therefore, local residents often refer to it as "West Lake." Mr. Chen Ying-sheng aimed to combine the romantic misty views and wood carving art of Sanyi to create a resort renowned like Hangzhou's West Lake, naming the park "West Lake Resort."
