Hehuo Eatery Introduction
Hehuo Dining Hall was founded by a group of Lukang locals and partners from the Baolu Movement. The name "Hehuo" sounds similar to "partnership" and embodies the concept of "cooking with fire (禾)." The combination of the characters for "禾" (grain) and "火" (fire) symbolizes "autumn," reflecting the energy that the annual Autumn Arts Festival brings to the local community. Beyond the festive atmosphere created each year, the aim is to incorporate the curatorial concept of "a community of shared life" into the daily lives of the locals. In Lukang, we "live together," and at the dining hall, we "eat with Hehuo," savoring the warmth of human connection and local flavor cultivated through years of effort during the Autumn season.
