Forgotten Fulu Alley - Ice Sauce Camp Introduction
Lane 181, Guohua Street, Chiayi City, commonly known as "Fu Road Lane," was the path for candidates from Chiayi to travel to Tainan for examinations during the Qing Dynasty's Tongzhi period. The Old House Project aims to guide the renovation and repurposing of an old building in this lane, transforming it into "Ice Sauce Camp." This old building is 43 years old, constructed with a mix of wood and reinforced concrete. The stairs and the second-floor flooring are wooden, and it features hollow-carved iron windows, all exuding the charm of a bygone era. After leasing, skilled craftsmen were invited to repair it, disassembling the wooden doors and iron flower windows to create decorative art installations that retain the ambiance of the old times.
