Forgotten Fulu Alley - Ice Sauce Camp Introduction
The alley at No. 181, Guohua Street, Chiayi City is commonly known as "Fulu Alley." During the Tongzhi era of the Qing Dynasty, it served as the route for candidates traveling to Tainan City for examinations. The Old House Power-up Project aims to renovate and repurpose an old building in this alley, transforming it into "Ice Sauce Camp." This old building, which is 43 years old, is a mix of timber and reinforced concrete. The stairs and the second-floor flooring are wooden, and there are hollow-carved iron windows, all exuding a sense of nostalgia. After leasing the property, a skilled craftsman was invited to carry out repairs, dismantling the wooden doors and the wrought iron floral windows to serve as wall decorations, preserving the atmosphere of a bygone era.
