Forgotten Fulu Alley - Ice Jam Inn Introduction
Lane 181, Guohua Street, Chiayi City, commonly known as "Fulu Lane," was the route for candidates traveling to Tainan City during the Qing Dynasty Tongzhi period. The Old House Project aims to guide the renovation and repurposing of an old building in this lane, transforming it into "Ice Sauce Camp." This old building, which is 43 years old, is a mix of wooden and reinforced concrete structures, featuring wooden stairs and a second-floor wooden floor, as well as hollowed-out carved iron windows that exude a nostalgic charm. After renting the space, skilled craftsmen were invited to repair it, disassembling the wooden doors and iron flower windows to serve as wall decoration art, preserving the atmosphere of a bygone era.
