Central Fountain Introduction
A landmark representing the spirit of Chiayi, the Central Fountain was built in 1970 when Ms. Hsu Shih-hsien served as the mayor. The fountain features fourteen variations in its water display, with a cycle occurring approximately every fifteen minutes, reaching heights of up to twenty meters. Especially at night, the colorful water shows are incredibly stunning. Today, it has become a prominent feature of the Central Fountain, where candidates rally with their supporters a day before elections, symbolizing the collective spirit of the people of Chiayi.
