Central Fountain Introduction
A landmark of Chiayi people's spirit, the colorful central fountain was built in 1970 during the tenure of Mayor Hsu Shih-Hsien. The fountain features fourteen different patterns that cycle approximately every fifteen minutes, with water reaching heights of twenty meters. Especially at night, the fountain's vibrant colors and ever-changing displays are stunningly beautiful. Nowadays, one day before elections, candidates gather with their supporters at this location to campaign, making it a significant feature of the central fountain and a symbol of Chiayi people's spirit.
