Central Fountain Pool Introduction
A landmark of the spirit of Chiayi – built in 1970 during the term of Mayor Hsu Shih-hsien, the colorful Central Fountain features fourteen different variations, with a cycle approximately every fifteen minutes and water heights reaching up to twenty meters. The fountain is especially stunning at night when the water displays a dazzling array of colors. Nowadays, the day before elections, candidates gather with their supporters at this location to rally, making it a unique feature of the Central Fountain and a symbol of the spirit of the people of Chiayi.
