Central Fountain Pool Introduction
A landmark representing the spirit of Chiayi, the Central Fountain was built in 1970 during the term of Mayor Hsu Shih-hsien. The fountain features fourteen different variations that cycle approximately every fifteen minutes, with water shooting up to twenty meters high. Particularly at night, the colorful and diverse water displays are a breathtaking sight. Nowadays, a day before elections, candidates gather with their supporters at this location to campaign, making it a distinctive feature of the Central Fountain and a symbol of the spirit of the people of Chiayi.
