Central Fountain Pool Introduction
The landmark symbolizing the spirit of Chiayi – The colorful Central Fountain Pool was constructed in 1970 during the tenure of Mayor Hsu Shih-Hsien. The pool features a fountain with fourteen different variations, cycling approximately every fifteen minutes, with water reaching heights of up to twenty meters. Especially at night, the fountain displays a stunning array of colorful changes. Nowadays, the day before each election, candidates gather with their supporters at this location for rallies, making it a significant feature of the Central Fountain Pool and a true emblem of the Chiayi spirit.
