Vegetable Market Hot Pot (Minsheng North Road) Introduction

A down-to-earth Taiwanese retro new dining trend. The newly opened Vegetable Market Hotpot on Minsheng North Road offers an all-you-can-eat vegetarian hotpot experience that incorporates the atmosphere of a traditional market into the dining environment. Emphasizing "health," it features an all-you-can-eat price of 300 TWD with about 40 types of fresh vegetables, eggs, tofu products, and rice noodles. Customers can take ingredients from a self-service counter, creating an illusion of shopping at a market, making vegan culture more relatable. The interior design embraces a Taiwanese retro style, with familiar old-fashioned plastic bowls on the tables, boldly stating, “You decide the outcome of vegetables versus meat.” There are six types of clear soup bases available, and occasionally rare selected vegetables such as black pearl corn, fruit peppers, and water chestnuts. Open from evening until midnight on weekdays, and offering lunch only on weekends, it becomes a new late-night dining option for Chiayi cat-owners. Meat lovers need not worry, as various meat and seafood dishes can be ordered separately, and a platter of meat or clams is offered for two diners at ten o’clock in the evening. The owner says seeing customers exclaim, "It turns out vegetables can be filling too," makes all their efforts worthwhile.
