Ri Xi Fen Yuan Dou Hua was started by Zhou Qing Chi around 48 or 49 years ago, laying the foundation for selling tapioca ice. In fact, Zhou Qing Chi's previous generation was already in the flour wholesale business. Zhou Qing Chi thought it would be better to use the existing ingredients at home to make tapioca and douhua (tofu pudding) instead of just specializing in tapioca. The locals loved it, and the pilgrims visiting the Bixuan Temple also came for it due to its delicious and affordable offerings, becoming a renowned snack in Dongshan.
