Lily Studio Introduction
"Baihe Studio" is located in Fengbin Township, Hualien County. The studio's owner, Pan Hsiu-Jing, has immersed herself in the research and creation of leather carving for over 20 years, fueled by her strong interest in the craft. "Baihe" is Pan's indigenous name, which sounds similar to the English word "Lily," hence the name "Baihe Studio." The studio's leather carving works include keychains, bracelets, wallets, coin purses, and bags of various sizes. The style of the works is diverse, with patterns on the leather accessories that often incorporate totems and imagery from the local Amis and Kavalan indigenous peoples of the East Coast, extending and transforming these designs. In recent years, Pan's son has also contributed with fresh ideas and a spirit of cultural research, designing many novel patterns for his mother to use as creative material, making the leather carving works more vibrant and innovative. Currently, Baihe Studio's works can be seen at local accommodations in Fengbin, such as Shitiyuan, Huanman, and the Xibulan Visitor Center (New Pacific No. 1), as well as the Houshan Story Museum. The studio also offers DIY leather carving experiences, welcoming interested friends not to miss out!
