Isuzi Coastal Recreation Area Introduction
Located in Fengbin Township, Ihuazui Bay is about 40 kilometers from Hualien City. The bay is surrounded by mountains, and at its southern end lies a large rock formation known as Dashi Nose, which is approximately 100 meters high, creating a picturesque scenery. Ihuazui Beach features a 2.5-kilometer-long fine, soft, and warm sandy beach. During the winter high tide, the seabed sand and stones emerge with a gray-black hue, while in summer, as the tide recedes under the sunlight, it reveals a golden sandy beach, making it an ideal place for water recreation activities. It has been developed into a seaside recreational area, including a swimming area, a paragliding take-off site, a wooden camping area, restaurants, and other leisure facilities, making it a perfect destination for summer water activities along the East Coast. To the west of Ihuazui Bay is Ihuazui Village, a settlement of the coastal Amis tribe. To the south, the remains of fishermen's landing areas can still be seen, where fishermen often take anglers out to the reefs for fishing. Additionally, some fishermen catch various fish like the grouper through vertical fishing or night fishing for white bait. At the southern headland of Ihuazui Bay, there is a 910-meter-long Dashi Nose Trail, which is almost entirely made of wooden walkways. Visitors can observe the ecology of plants and animals and the landscape along the undulating steps of the trail, which leads to a vantage point with expansive views, making it a suitable natural ecological trail for family outings.
