Tablan Village Introduction
Tabalang Village is an important settlement of the Amis people and can be regarded as the largest indigenous village in Taiwan. It is also the most populous village of the Amis, the largest indigenous tribe, making it densely populated. Due to this density, visitors can see early primitive artifacts of the Amis and the genuine emotions of the villagers. Over the years, through community development, Tabalang has continuously adjusted its approach to tourism and daily life, resulting in various changes in each period. Therefore, visitors can see different studios, cultural heritage museums, and cultural parks showcasing these cultural modalities within the village. In recent years, there has been an active promotion of courses in weaving, rattan weaving, traditional singing, outdoor training, and wood carving, along with efforts to organize village historical materials, filled with many beautiful stories. If there is an opportunity to interact with the villagers, one can also feel the charm of traditional Amis songs and dances, moving their bodies together to enjoy this cultural exchange; it is certainly one of the villages to visit for those who love indigenous culture.
