Shimen Changbin Bicycle Path Introduction
Taiwan's East Coast has been shaped by the collision and compression of the Philippine Sea Plate and the Eurasian Plate for hundreds of years, resulting in orogeny and creating exceptional geological landscapes. Connecting to the Pacific Ocean, it boasts a rich marine ecology where whales and dolphins can often be seen jumping out of the water, evoking awe for the mysteries of nature. The Changbin Bicycle Path passes famous East Coast attractions such as Shitiping, Changhong Bridge, the Tropic of Cancer marker, and Bashian Cave, providing opportunities for rest and planning half-day or full-day tours. The flat coastline and windbreak forest scenery of Changbin Coast have also become movie locations, with films like "The Furthest Distance" and "Etude" being filmed here. Furthermore, the East Coast National Scenic Area has carefully installed viewing pavilions along the route; these pavilions are situated in open, scenic spots, allowing visitors to rest and take in the beautiful landscapes of the East Coast. Notably, riding along the bicycle path offers views of common coastal forest species such as Lintou, Huangtong, and Caohaitong, as well as coral reefs and large tidal pools. Additionally, rare and precious bird species like tern, black-headed gulls, waterbirds, and snipe can also be observed, making this unique geographical environment an excellent place for leisure and visual delight.
