Shimen Changbin Bike Path Introduction
Taiwan's East Coast has been shaped over the centuries by the collision and compression of the Philippine Sea Plate and the Eurasian Plate, resulting in orogeny that creates outstanding geological landscapes. It connects to the Pacific Ocean and boasts a rich marine ecosystem, where the sight of whales and dolphins leaping from the sea is a breathtaking illustration of nature's wonders. The Changbin Bicycle Path passes by famous East Coast attractions such as Shiti Ping, Changhong Bridge, the Tropic of Cancer marker, and the Eight Immortals Cave, providing opportunities for stops and the arrangement of half-day or full-day trips. The flat coastline of Changbin, along with its windbreak forest scenery, has also served as a filming location for movies such as "The Furthest Distance" and "Etude" among others. Additionally, there are scenic pavilions meticulously set up by the East Coast National Scenic Area Administration along the route. These pavilions are situated in open areas with excellent views, allowing visitors to rest and take in the beautiful landscapes of the East Coast. Most notably, riding along the bicycle path offers the chance to admire the coastal forests typical of the East Coast, such as the Lin Tou, Huang Tang, and Grass Tree species, coral reefs, and large tidal pools, as well as observe rare and precious bird species like the tern, headless crow, water birds, and sandpipers, making it a perfect recreational and visual feast in a uniquely gifted geographical environment.
