Dadong Dafu Flatland Forest Park Introduction
Daanong Dafu Plain Forest Park is the first plain forest park in Taiwan, featuring rich natural ecology. It offers different attractions throughout the seasons, such as flower viewing in spring, firefly and bird watching in summer, and maple leaf viewing in autumn and winter. The park is equipped with North Loop and South Loop biking trails, allowing visitors to enjoy cycling while inhaling phytoncides, and if lucky, you might encounter the Formosan Blue Magpie foraging, along with the sounds of chirping insects and birds—making for a pleasant cycling experience immersed in a forest bath. Surrounded by the Central Mountain Range and the Coastal Mountain Range, Daanong Dafu Plain Forest Park provides expansive views. In spring, visitors can admire the colorful flower fields in front of the service center, and the vast meadows often showcase cleverly designed installations that capture the attention of travelers, making it a popular photo spot. During March and April, the meadows come alive at night with flickering fireflies, their numbers creating a moving galaxy, making it hard to look away. Visitors find themselves engrossed in the rich ecological journey while listening to the guide's explanation. In autumn and winter, the trees along the South Loop biking trail, such as the Chinese fan palm, sweet gum, and green maple, gradually transform from green to yellow and then red, attracting many people for maple leaf viewing and photography. Riding on the South Loop biking trail, one can listen to the rustling sound of maple leaves while gazing up at the vibrant maple forest—this is the romantic essence of autumn and winter unique to Daanong Dafu.
