The affordable drink spot loved by students, Ximi Lu Home, is located next to Dongmen Elementary School. It is a specialty store for tapioca pudding, and it is likely a go-to beverage shop for many Hsinchu students during their school days. Since its opening in 1990, it has offered a variety of flavors of tapioca pudding. However, since customization of sweetness is not available, friends who prefer 30% or less sugar should consider this carefully! The taro pudding has a distinct texture that goes down smoothly, providing a pleasant experience for the throat. It is recommended for children and the elderly to savor it slowly and chew thoroughly for the best experience. However, since the taro pudding does not contain actual taro pieces, those who value natural ingredients or prefer real taro chunks might feel a little disappointed. Nevertheless, it has a subtle taro flavor reminiscent of traditional taro milk tea. Every time I pass by, I can’t help but want to buy a cup to reminisce about those school days waiting for the bus after class.
