For the manager of Infusion Cake and Red Tea Specialty Store, Zhang Jiahong, the biggest challenge is pointing out the most recommended dish in the store. After seven years of wandering in other cities, Jiahong returned to Chiayi City in 2016 and opened Infusion Cake and Red Tea Specialty Store with a familiar dessert chef, Lai Yihan, on a small street renowned in Chiayi City as "Beauty Street." The storefront features a large glass window, with white window grilles interweaving like a picture frame, dividing the interior scenery into warm, serene artworks. Entering this world of art, a comfortable ambiance and music casually float in the space, guiding each guest to naturally become an indispensable part of the artistic piece. Every French dessert displayed in the dessert cabinet at the counter is a creation by Yihan, who combines her experiences studying in France with various inspirational stories from life. After one to two months of development and creation, Yihan pours the same relentless, persevering spirit she applied in music learning into her dessert creations, resulting in rich and diverse aesthetic layers in each of her treats. To complement the different desserts, Jiahong recommends various types of tea at the counter. From selecting the tea leaves, brewing, to serving to customers, every procedure is meticulously overseen by Jiahong, ensuring the best dishes are presented at the customers’ tables, something he absolutely won't compromise on. I believe this is also why Jiahong can never pinpoint the most recommended dish in the store; he is convinced that every dish he presents to customers meets the highest standards he envisions in his heart.
