Futian French Pastry Shop Introduction
The Sweet Feast in the Yellow House is located at a corner of Zhongshan Road, shining brightly under the sun with its fresh yellow building, sweet like delicious desserts filled with happiness. The eye-catching exterior makes a striking impression. This century-old house, infused with a touch of southern French style, has been rejuvenated by Sweet Feast. The young manager, Mr. Feng, appears slightly shy but speaks energetically, enthusiastically sharing the story of this establishment founded by seven good friends dreaming together. The idea originated from a classmate who specialized in French pastries and has studied in Europe and worked in top restaurants in Asia. They all hoped to weave richer stories in their hometown of Chiayi, leading to the official establishment of Sweet Feast in 2013 (the 101st year of the Republic). The first floor features a stylish ambiance, seamlessly blending vintage furniture collected from various places, creating a refined yet cozy atmosphere. Sitting on the sofa enjoying desserts while appreciating the hand-painted wall art, the playful doodles evoke a long-lost sense of childhood, enriching the taste of the sweets. Ascending to the second floor via a spiral staircase, what greets you is a loft reminiscent of foreign films, the secret hideout that we all dreamed of during childhood faithfully recreated in Sweet Feast. Thus, guided by this whimsical and creative design, I explored this unknown secret realm like a young boy. During this exploration, dreams from my childhood gradually returned to my heart. Transitioning from good friends to partners, the seven inevitably have disagreements due to different approaches to their ideals; however, the straightforwardness of these big boys and their friendship since high school remains unaffected, growing even closer through the exchange of ideas. “What matters is not the title, but the responsibility,” the manager said. Thus, each of the seven works hard in their respective fields of expertise for this dream they share, occasionally bickering yet maintaining their strong bond. The century-old house combined with the dreams of seven big boys and French pastries is a conflicting combination that has brought Sweet Feast to life. Starting in Chiayi, they plan to incorporate local agricultural products into their desserts in the future, creating innovative flavors of French pastries, hoping to convey their love for Chiayi to every friend visiting Sweet Feast through their desserts. Recommended dishes: Delicate Cake Roll, Blueberry Sparkling Drink.
