Qiaonan Gourmet Cafe Introduction
No. 16 Ancient House is a well-preserved example of traditional Taiwanese street houses. This type of street house is designed with a semi-loft on the first floor, featuring a skylight for the transportation of goods up and down. Each unit has a courtyard to facilitate natural lighting and a water corridor designed to serve as a kitchen. Due to the successful community building in Qiaonan Old Street, it attracted Yeh Nai-wei, who previously ran a second-hand car café in Houbihu Wushulin, to return home and engage in community development work. He transformed No. 16 Ancient House into a café, filling Qiaonan Old Street with the aroma of Taiwanese organic coffee. Notably, Mr. Yeh is a vinyl record enthusiast, and the walls of the ancient house are adorned with album covers he has collected from various places. As you sip your coffee, the sound of old songs playing from a vintage record player might surprise you, as if you've stumbled into a time tunnel. The No. 13 Gourmet Restaurant and No. 16 Café are connected, allowing visitors to explore.
