The first Taoyuan Top Ten Souvenirs features the master-crafted Dougan (bean curd) gift set (handmade black bean Dougan). The famous Dabao Dougan, recognized in the third and fourth Taoyuan Top Ten Souvenirs, is made from food-grade non-GMO yellow soybeans, handcrafted, and has undergone at least four cycles of rapid freezing and braising. Its solid flavor and chewy texture make it a favorite souvenir among tourists. In 2008, it was awarded the "Golden Store" in Taoyuan for "Nostalgic Snacks" and in 2010 for "Dessert Delicacies." The Dabao Happiness Peach Blossom Garden gift box, recognized in the third and fifth editions of Taoyuan's Top Ten Souvenirs, has been passed down through four generations over a century. The Happiness Peach Blossom Garden gift set includes: a box of Tung flower egg and bean pods, a bottle of Kanjin fermented bean curd, and vacuum-packed handmade black bean Dougan (four boxes from a national treasure-level Dougan master and two packs of fresh Dougan). In 2008, it was honored as one of Taiwan's top fifteen souvenirs by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and in 2010, it passed the vacuum commercial sterilization test by the Food Industry Research and Development Institute. It is approved by the Department of Health for sale at room temperature (one of three in Taiwan and the only one in Northern Taiwan). The sixth edition of Taoyuan's Top Ten Souvenirs features the Dabao Purple Butterfly gift box. The seventh and eighth editions include the Dabao pottery jar (Taoshi). The Dabao food design for the pottery jar (urn) considers the concept of environmental reuse. We ensure that the clay is tested and meets food container standards.
