New South 12 Creative Experiment Shop Introduction
Xin Nan 12 Cultural and Creative Business is located on Zhongshan Road, formerly known as Xin Nan Street. It was a gathering place for merchants to establish shops and warehouses during the prosperous period of the Daxi River, and it served as a high-end residential area at the time. In 1999, it was renovated by the National Cultural and Arts Foundation and the local government to become an arts and cultural street. The building at Xin Nan 12 (No. 12 Zhongshan Road) was once the residence of Dr. Fu Zu-jian, one of the three senior physicians in Daxi. Although there is little left of the nearly hundred-year-old structure and indoor constructions, innovative thinking and operational methods have revitalized the old house, allowing the three-rice-field layout to showcase its historical essence once again. This platform also encourages more partners in Daxi to explore different ways of promoting local culture.
