Yunlin / Horseshoe Crab Ecological Leisure Park (Selected for the 2010 Taiwan Culinary Exhibition特色餐廳) Introduction
Located in the Jinhu Village along the southwestern coast of Yunlin County, the “Matsu Clam Leisure Park” focuses on the artificial cultivation of Taiwan's native species, the “Red Mangrove Clam.” Mr. Jye Jhong-Chung, the operator, is dedicated not only to the local aquaculture industry but also to the development of the leisure industry. In 2005, the “Matsu Clam Theme Pavilion” was established to promote clam craft, in collaboration with the Council of Labor Affairs' diverse employment program, creating a new recreational hub along the Yunlin coast through the integration of human resources. The park spans 1.6 hectares and features a clam-experience pool, a lookout pavilion resembling an observation tower, and a theme pavilion offering DIY experiences and tasting meals featuring clams. The entrance is designed with driftwood. The “Matsu Clam Leisure Park” integrates the unique local culture and diverse industries, and combines community resources, with plans for package tours to experience the fishing village atmosphere. Visitors can not only enjoy DIY activities with Matsu clam crafts and clam digging while washing pants but also taste dishes rich in the flavors of the fishing village, primarily using Matsu clams as the main ingredient, attracting many urban dwellers to visit.
