Fengshan Inspection Station Introduction
The Fengshan Patrol Station, located in Jinhou Township, was built by General Zhou De-xing during the Ming Dynasty to defend against Japanese pirates. It is one of the five patrol stations in Kinmen. The current appearance dates back to renovations completed in 2013. Due to its unique gate design, it has become a popular location for social media photos, and many refer to it as the "Little Great Wall of Kinmen." During the Ming Dynasty, Japanese pirates frequently invaded China's coastal areas. In the 20th year of the Hongwu reign, Ming Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang dispatched General Zhou De-xing to station troops along the Fujian coast and establish defense points. A total of five patrol stations were built on Kinmen Island, located at Tianpu, Guanao, Chengkang, Lieyu, and Fengshan. However, all five patrol stations were destroyed during the Qing Dynasty in the second year of the Kangxi reign when the Qing military captured Kinmen and implemented a maritime blockade. Additionally, Fengshan Patrol Station is a great spot to enjoy the sunset. After visiting the station, you can also take a stroll to the nearby "Fengshan Guli Shore" and "San Shao E-065 Outpost."
