Fengshang Inspection Station Introduction
Located in Jinhou Township, the Pengshang Inspection Station was built during the Ming Dynasty by General Zhou Dexing of Jiangxia to defend against the Japanese pirates. It is one of the five inspection stations in Kinmen. The current appearance you see is from the renovations in 2013. Due to its unique gate design, it has become a popular spot for social media check-ins, and many refer to it as the "Little Great Wall of Kinmen." During the Ming Dynasty, the rampant Japanese pirates often invaded the coastal areas of China. In the 20th year of the Hongwu reign, the Hongwu Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang dispatched General Zhou Dexing to station troops along the Fujian coast and establish coastal defense points. At that time, five inspection stations were built on Kinmen Island: Tianpu, Guanao, Chenkeng, Lieyu, and Pengshang. However, all five stations were damaged during the Qing Dynasty's Kangxi period when the Qing army captured Kinmen and implemented a maritime blockade policy. Additionally, the Pengshang Inspection Station is also a great place to view the sunset. After visiting the Pengshang Inspection Station, you can also take a stroll to the nearby "Pengshang Guli Shore" and "San Shào E-065 Base."
