Fengshan Inspection Station Introduction
Fengshang Inspection Station, located in Jinhou Town, is a defensive stronghold built during the Ming Dynasty by General Zhou Dexing of Jiangxia to resist Japanese pirates. It is one of the five inspection stations in Kinmen. The current appearance of the station is from renovations completed in 2013. Due to its unique gate design, it has become a popular spot for social media photography, and many people refer to it as the "Mini Great Wall of Kinmen." During the Ming Dynasty, Japanese pirates frequently invaded coastal areas of China. To counter this, in the 20th year of the Hongwu era, the Ming Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang appointed General Zhou Dexing to station troops along the Fujian coast, establishing numerous coastal defense points. A total of five inspection stations were built on Kinmen Island, located in Tianpu, Guanao, Chenkeng, Lieyu, and Fengshang. However, these five inspection stations were all destroyed during the second year of the Kangxi era of the Qing Dynasty, when Kinmen was captured by Qing troops and a maritime blockade was enforced. Additionally, Fengshang Inspection Station is a great place to enjoy the sunset. After visiting the station, you can also take a stroll to the nearby "Fengshang Gulian" and "Sanhau E-065 outpost."
