Fengshang Inspection Station Introduction
Fengshan Inspection Station, located in JInghu Township, is a defensive fortification built by General Zhou Dexing of the Ming Dynasty to fend off Japanese pirates. It is one of the five inspection stations in Kinmen. The current appearance seen today is from renovations completed in 2013. Due to its unique gate design, it has become a popular spot for social media check-ins, and many refer to it as the "Mini Great Wall of Kinmen." During the Ming Dynasty, Japanese pirates frequently invaded China's coastal areas. In the 20th year of the Hongwu era, Ming Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang dispatched General Zhou Dexing to the coastal areas of Fujian with military forces to establish coastal defense points, leading to the construction of five inspection stations on Kinmen Island: Tianpu, Guanao, Chenkeng, Lieyu, and Fengshan. However, all five were destroyed during the Qing Dynasty's Kangxi era when Qing forces captured Kinmen and implemented a maritime blockade policy. Additionally, Fengshan Inspection Station is a great place to enjoy sunsets. After visiting Fengshan Inspection Station, you can also take a stroll nearby at "Fengshan Guli Shore" and "San Shao E-065 Point"!
