Kinmen Agricultural Research Institute Introduction
The Kinmen Agricultural Experiment Station was established in 1952. Its main tasks include research on vegetables, melons and fruits, ornamental plants, and quality seed breeding. In 1997, it transformed into a planned nature ecology and education park, creating a multi-objective agricultural operation by introducing tourism and recreational activities, as well as providing teaching and improving the ecological environment. In recent years, the Kinmen Agricultural Experiment Station has aimed to integrate production, life, ecology, and sustainable living, actively revitalizing idle spaces, transforming the decayed conservation room into a lively agricultural experience center – a handmade classroom. It is expected to showcase local agricultural products and related agricultural experience learning products, innovating deep travel experiences in the eastern peninsula and creating new highlights for experiential tourism photography. The park often creates flower seas to attract visitors and plans to include a barbecue area, Eurasian otter habitat, Houlong Creek waterfront area, ecological regulation pool, flower corridors, etc. The plants in the park change with the seasons, and the excellent environment attracts fireflies, cicadas, and various bird species! The barbecue area is equipped with 28 barbecue zones, each accommodating about 10 people, all provided with seating and circular ovens. Visitors only need to bring fuel, ingredients, etc., to enjoy the fun of rural life. The grass skiing area at Haohan Slope is equipped with viewing platforms and resting seats, where the public can bring their own grass skiing equipment to enjoy the recreation.
