Kinmen Agricultural Research Institute Introduction
The Kinmen Agricultural Experiment Station was established in 1952, with primary tasks including experimental research on vegetables, melons, fruits, ornamental plants, and seed breeding. In 1997, it transformed into a planning area for natural ecology and education, creating multi-objective management of agriculture, incorporating tourism and recreational activities, and providing teaching and ecological environment improvements. In recent years, the Kinmen Agricultural Experiment Station has aimed to integrate production, life, ecology, and sustainable living, actively revitalizing idle spaces and transforming the dilapidated conservation room into a leisure agricultural experience center - a handmade classroom, which is expected to incorporate rural elements to showcase local agricultural products and products related to agricultural experiential learning, innovating the depth of tourism in the eastern peninsula and creating new highlights for experiential photography. The station often creates flower seas to attract tourists and has planned barbecue pits, Eurasian otter habitats, the Houlong Stream waterfront area, ecological adjustment ponds, and flower corridors; the plants within the park change with the seasons, creating an excellent environment that attracts fireflies, cicadas, and various bird species! The barbecue pit area has 28 barbecue zones, each capable of accommodating about 10 people, with seating and round ovens provided. Visitors can bring their own fuel and ingredients to experience the fun of rural life. The Gouman Slope Grass Sliding Area is equipped with viewing platforms and resting seats, allowing visitors to bring their own grass sliding equipment to enjoy the sliding activities.
