Kinmen Agricultural Research Institute Introduction
The Kinmen Agricultural Experiment Station was established in 1952, and its main tasks include experimental research on vegetables, melons, fruits, ornamental plants, and breeding of good varieties. In 1997, it transitioned towards planning a natural ecology and educational park, creating multi-objective agricultural management, introducing tourism and recreational activities, and providing education and ecological environment improvement. In recent years, the Kinmen Agricultural Experiment Station has aimed to combine production, life, ecology, and sustainable living, actively revitalizing idle spaces by transforming dilapidated conservation rooms into a happy agricultural experience center - a hands-on classroom. It plans to integrate rural elements to showcase local agricultural products and related experiential learning products, innovating travel depth in the eastern peninsula and creating new highlights for experiential tourism and photography. The station often creates flower seas to attract tourists and has planned barbecue areas, Eurasian otter habitats, the Houlung Creek waterfront area, ecological adjustment pools, and flower corridors; the plants in the park change with the seasons, and the excellent environment attracts fireflies, cicadas, and various birds! The barbecue area is equipped with 28 barbecue zones, each accommodating about 10 people, with seating and round ovens provided, allowing visitors to bring their own fuel and ingredients to experience the fun of rural life. The Houhan Slope grass skiing area features a viewing platform, resting seats, and other facilities, allowing visitors to bring their own grass skiing equipment to enjoy the area.
