Jiaoxi Xietian Temple Introduction
The Xietian Temple is the premier and most important Guandi temple in northern Taiwan. Every year, a large number of devotees come to worship, and the incense offerings are particularly abundant. What sets Xietian Temple apart from other temples is that it was personally established by the Qing dynasty government. The annual spring ritual known as "Qigu" and the autumn festival's "Siyiwu" dance are key activities that attract large crowds. The temple is primarily dedicated to Guan Sheng Di Jun, and the original site for the temple was located at the spiritual site of Huangfengchao, with the temple built in the ninth year of the Jiaqing reign (1804), which is the predecessor of today's Xietian Temple.
