Jiaoxi Xietian Temple Introduction
Xietian Temple is the foremost and most important Guandi (God of War) temple in northern Taiwan. Every year, a large number of devotees come to pay their respects, making it a bustling place of worship. What makes Xietian Temple particularly unique compared to other temples is that it was constructed under the direct decree of the Qing Dynasty government. The annual Spring Festival's "Turtle Asking" ritual and the Autumn Festival's "Four Rites Dance" are key events that attract large crowds. The main deity worshipped here is Emperor Guansheng (Guandi), and the original site of the temple was the spiritual location of Huangfengchao. The temple was established in the ninth year of the Jiaqing era (1804), making it the predecessor of today's Xietian Temple.
