Jiaoxi Xietian Temple Introduction
Xie Tian Temple is the most prominent and important Guandi temple in Northern Taiwan. Every year, a large number of devotees come to worship, and the temple is known for its flourishing incense offerings. What makes Xie Tian Temple particularly unique is that it was built under an imperial edict from the Qing Dynasty government. The "Qigu" worship event held during the annual spring festival and the "Siyiwu" performance during the autumn festival are both major attractions that draw large crowds. The temple is dedicated to the worship of Guandi, and its original site was chosen at the spiritual location of Huang Feng Chao. The temple was established in the ninth year of the Jiaqing Emperor's reign (1804), marking the precursor to today's Xie Tian Temple.
