Jiu Liao Creek Ecological Park Introduction

Jiuliao Creek Ecological Park is located in Lunpi Village, Datong Township. During the Japanese occupation, Taiwan was rich in camphor, leading to the construction of many camphor warehouses in Yilan, numbered accordingly. This area is known as the ninth camphor warehouse, hence the name Jiuliao Creek. In earlier times, it was part of the domain of the indigenous Atayal people. According to legend, Atayal hunters heard the sound of water falling on rocks, which resembled "Ga-ba," and thus Jiuliao Creek is also known as Gaba Creek. Due to the promotion of ecological conservation, Jiuliao Creek Ecological Park remains unpolluted, with abundant water flow in the upstream waterfalls and clear creek water, preserving its natural landscape.
