Jiuliao Creek Ecological Park Introduction
Jiu Liao Creek Ecological Park is located in Lunpi Village, Datong Township. During the Japanese colonial period, due to the abundance of camphor in Taiwan, many camphor mills were built in Yilan, numbered for identification, and this area was the ninth camphor mill, hence the name Jiu Liao Creek. In the early days, this area belonged to the territory of the indigenous Atayal tribe, and it is said that an Atayal hunter heard the sound of water falling on the rocks, which sounded like "Ga-ba," leading to Jiu Liao Creek also being known as Ga-ba Creek. Due to the promotion of ecological conservation, the Jiu Liao Creek Ecological Park remains unpolluted, with abundant waterfall flows upstream and clear stream water, preserving its natural landscape.
