Jiuliaoxie Ecological Park Introduction
Jiuliao Creek Natural Ecological Park is located in Lunpi Village, Datong Township. During the Japanese colonial period, due to the abundant production of camphor in Taiwan, many camphor houses were built in Yilan and were referred to by numbers. This place is the ninth camphor house, hence the name Jiuliao Creek. In the past, this area was part of the territory of the Taiwanese indigenous Atayal people. According to legend, Atayal hunters heard the sound of water falling on the rocks, which sounded like "Ga-ba," thus Jiuliao Creek is also known as Gaba Creek. Thanks to the promotion of ecological conservation, Jiuliao Creek Ecological Park remains unpolluted, with abundant water flow from the waterfalls upstream and crystal-clear creek water, preserving its natural landscape.
