Jiuliaohsi Ecological Park Introduction
Jiuliao Creek Natural Ecological Park is located in Lunpi Village, Datong Township. During the Japanese colonial period, due to Taiwan's abundant production of camphor, many camphor storage facilities were constructed in Yilan, numbered for identification, with this being the ninth camphor storage, hence the name Jiuliao Creek. This area was originally part of the territory of the indigenous Taiwanese Atayal people. According to legend, Atayal hunters heard a sound like "Ga-ba" from the water falling on the rocks, which is why Jiuliao Creek is also called Gaba Creek. Additionally, due to ecological conservation efforts, Jiuliao Creek Ecological Park remains unpolluted, with abundant water flow from the upstream waterfall and clear stream water, preserving its natural landscape.
