Jiu Liao Creek Ecological Park Introduction
Jiuliao Creek Natural Ecological Park is located in Lunpi Village, Datong Township. During the Japanese colonial period, due to Taiwan's abundant camphor production, many camphor houses were built in Yilan and were referred to by their numbers. This place was the ninth camphor house, hence the name Jiuliao Creek. In the early days, this area belonged to the indigenous Atayal people's territory. It is said that the Atayal hunters heard the creek water falling on the rocks, producing a sound like "Ga-ba," which is why Jiuliao Creek is also known as Gaba Creek. Thanks to the promotion of ecological conservation, Jiuliao Creek Ecological Park remains unpolluted, with abundant water flow from upstream waterfalls and clear creek water, preserving its natural landscape.
