Herb Island Fragrance Museum Introduction
"Xiang Cao Fei Fei" is located in the Hengshan leisure agricultural area of Yuanshan Township, Yilan County, right next to Sun Lake. The site covers an area of 3,025 ping, with an indoor space of 1,600 ping. It is established by the Sun Lake Cultural Foundation to promote Yilan's cultural characteristics and advance cultural education concepts through cultural and creative industries. Construction began in 2012 and it officially opened on March 1, 2013. The park is operated in partnership with Xiang Fei Lifestyle Co., Ltd., offering exhibits, experiences, dining, merchandise, and public services, creating a diverse experiential space that integrates intellect, culture, education, and leisure. "Xiang Cao Fei Fei" is the first aromatic plant experience center in the country themed around "fragrance," introducing various natural and cultural knowledge related to scents. Wandering in the natural space of Xiang Cao Fei Fei, visitors can see, smell, and interact with aromatic plants, shrubs, and trees. Additionally, they can enjoy unique thematic dishes under the osmanthus tree and admire the natural beauty of the Lanyang Plain and Turtle Mountain Island from the scenic hilly slopes bordering Sun Lake. This building, jokingly referred to by locals as the "White House of Yilan," is a pure white structure made of steel, glass, and wood, with large glass windows that incorporate the outdoor natural scenery into the decor of Xiang Cao Fei Fei. The spacious indoor area is surrounded by greenery, ensuring not only fresh air but also the occasional drifting fragrance of seasonal flowers, such as osmanthus or wild ginger blooms, providing a stage for the fragrances of each season to shine.
