Zhongli Night Market Introduction
The Zhongli Tourist Night Market is located on Xinming Road in Zhongli District, stretching approximately 700 meters between the intersections of Central West Road and Minquan Road. It is one of the top tourist night markets in Taoyuan City. Adjacent to several schools, it operates as a regular traffic road during the day, with many school buses passing through. In the evening, it transforms into a bustling hub of vendors, with stalls lining both sides of the road, attracting large crowds. During weekends, it becomes particularly lively, showcasing a vibrant atmosphere as the night progresses. The night market, primarily centered on Xinming Road, is divided into three main categories: department stores, snacks, and fruits. Most stalls feature long-established vendors offering a wide array of snacks, clothing for all genders, hardware, daily necessities, exquisite accessories, and refreshing drinks and desserts. The first half of the market is dominated by clothing, daily needs, and recreational products, while the latter half is a paradise for food lovers, gathering renowned vendors selling popular items such as sweet potato balls, fried pork ribs, mixed tofu pudding, and spicy stinky tofu. Other delicious snacks like large intestine noodles, pineapple shrimp balls, oyster omelets, fresh squid, and egg cakes are also available, making them just as appealing as those in other night markets. In 2020, the Zhongli Tourist Night Market was awarded the honor of a 4-Star Excellent Market. With many years of history, the market's development initially affected local traffic and aesthetics, but with the rapid urban development, the Zhongli District Office consolidated vendors from major city roads such as Xingguo Road, Zhongmei Road, Laojia Creek, Zhongshan Road, Zhongping Road, Zhongzheng Road, and Datong Road to the segments of Xinming Road and Central West Road. This move not only provided a worry-free operating environment for vendors but also successfully attracted crowds, becoming the go-to choice for nightlife for locals. When visiting the Zhongli Night Market, famous for its unique snacks, one must taste the delectable Taiwanese street foods, including the spicy and hearty stinky tofu, bone-free deep-fried pork ribs, fragrant rice noodle soup and sesame oil chicken, chewy sweet potato balls, savory scallion pancakes, refreshing mixed tofu pudding, and papaya milk, all of which are incredibly enticing. After dining, don't rush off; another section of vendors offers a wide range of trendy products and novelty toys, appealing to the consumption habits of young people. After satisfying your appetite, take some time to explore and browse. Since the development of Zhongli Night Market began with a concentration of temporary vendors, the shopping district has independently flourished. Visitors can also easily connect to the nearby SOGO shopping area. The night market is in close proximity to Zhongli Railway Station, which is about a 20-minute walk away, allowing visitors to enjoy a leisurely stroll while experiencing the local night market atmosphere.
