Luodong Forestry Culture Park Introduction

During the Japanese colonial period, there were three major government-operated logging sites: Alishan, Baxianshan, and Taiping Mountain Forestry Area, with Taiping Mountain being developed later. The Luodong Forestry Culture Park is located on the former site of the Luodong Branch Office and timber storage pond from the Japanese occupation. Since logging in Taiping Mountain ceased in 1982, the area has mostly maintained its original appearance. In 2004, the Forestry Bureau's Yilan Branch planned this area as a forestry culture park, redesigning it to integrate forestry history and ecological sustainability. This not only restores the former forestry culture but also highlights the historical significance of the Taiping Mountain logging industry and the development of Luodong Township. In 2012, this park was officially registered as a cultural landscape under the Cultural Heritage Preservation Act, using the old name of Luodong Forest Area.

Transportation Methods：[Driving Directions] Southbound Route: National Freeway No. 5 → Exit at Luodong Interchange → Turn right onto County Route 196 → Enter Luodong City → Pass underpass → Turn right onto Zhongzheng North Road after the first traffic light and travel about 50 meters, the Luodong Forestry Culture Park will be on your right. [Driving Directions] Northbound Route: National Freeway No. 5 → Exit at Luodong Interchange → Turn left onto County Route 196 → Enter Luodong City → Pass underpass → After turning right onto Zhongzheng North Road and traveling about 50 meters, the Luodong Forestry Culture Park will be on your right. [Public Transport] By Train: Exit Luodong Train Station, walk straight to the intersection of Zhongzheng North Road, turn right, and walk about 1000 meters along Zhongzheng North Road (approximately 20-25 minutes walking time). [Public Transport] By Bus (Route One): National Highway Bus from Taipei to Luodong (Capital Bus and Kuo-Kuang Motor Transport): Get off at Luodong Bus Station, walk to the back of the train station and cross to the front station exit, continue straight to the intersection of Zhongzheng North Road, turn right, and walk about 1000 meters along Zhongzheng North Road. Walking time is about 20 minutes. [Public Transport] By Bus (Route Two): Provincial Highway Bus from Toucheng to Nanfangao (Kuo-Kuang No. 1): Get off at Zhulin Station, turn onto Linchang Road and walk for about 3 minutes to reach the park entrance.

Parking Information：Small car: NT$60, Small car: NT$60 per hour (maximum NT$100 for weekdays). For parking less than 1 hour, it will be charged as 1 hour. The portion exceeding 1 hour, if less than 30 minutes, will be charged as 30 minutes; if over 30 minutes, it will still be charged as 1 hour. Large vehicle: NT$120, Large vehicle: NT$120 per hour.
