Xinpuh Chen Clan Ancestral Hall Introduction
The 18th generation ancestor of the Chen family, Ren Hua Gong, migrated from his hometown in Jiaoling County, Guangdong to Taiwan during the 45th year of the Qianlong reign in the Qing Dynasty, bringing along his three sons: Chao Gui Gong, Chao Zan Gong, and Chao Xue Gong, establishing their base in Nankan, Taoyuan. Chao Xue Gong relocated to Wufengling in Xinpu during the Daoguang period and had two sons. The second son, Chang Wang Gong, was awarded the title of Gongsheng in the year of Xianfeng and later was given the official name of Chao Gang, courtesy name Zuo Qing. In the second year of the Tongzhi reign, he was granted a flower feather for his military achievements and appointed as Tongzhi of Fen Prefecture, achieving wealth and prominence. In the seventh year of Tongzhi, he promoted the construction of the Chen Family Ancestral Hall to worship the ancestors of the Chen family through generations. In the 21st year of the Guangxu reign, it was completely destroyed by war, and it was rebuilt in the 24th year of Guangxu, with land purchased. The income from the land was used as a permanent fund for the descendants' memorial sacrifices, and it was recorded in the Chen Family Ancestral Hall, Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, Chen Bin Feng, Yi Long Chang, Hua Rong Chang, and the public welfare project for sacrifices, with the management selected annually by descendants of Chao Xue Gong.
