Xinpuyue Wenchang Temple Introduction

The Xinpuxi Wenchang Temple was built during the Daoguang period and is one of the three Wenchang temples in Hsinchu County. Due to its old age, it was rebuilt during the Guangxu period. The rebuilt temple served as both a study and a shrine, representing an early cultural sophistication in Xinpuxi. In the early years of the Republic of China, the Wenchang Temple was suddenly destroyed by fire, leading to its active reconstruction in the 84th year of the Republic of China. The main deities worshiped include Wenchang Dijun, Wenkuai Dijun, Zhu Yi Shenjun, Wenheng Shengdi, and Fuyou Dijun, reflecting the polytheism of Taoism.
