Sinpu Ancestor Hall Hakka Cultural Center Introduction
The Hakka Cultural Visitor Center at the Xinpu Ancestral Hall was originally the residence of the principals of Xinpu Elementary School during the Japanese colonial period and is the only Japanese-style dormitory in Xinpu Township. According to historical research, this dormitory was built 10 years before the Taiwan Retrocession and was constructed by the Japanese government for the residence of the school’s principals. The dormitory covers an area of approximately 25 square meters and features a structure that includes wood and reinforced concrete (RC). It has a history of over a hundred years. After being organized and restored in 2012, it became the current ancestral hall visitor center.
