East Coast National Scenic Area Hualien Visitor Center Introduction
Along Taiwan Route 11, following the winding road to the northernmost point of the East Coast Scenic Area, you will reach the Hualien Visitor Center. Situated on a hillside, the center features exhibition rooms showcasing the region's natural and cultural resources as well as tourism spots along the eastern coast. It also includes a multimedia presentation room that can accommodate 81 people. Before embarking on your journey along the East Coast, it's worth visiting here for travel information. Facing the vast Pacific Ocean, the Hualien Visitor Center offers superb views, allowing visitors to gaze at the endless blue sea and enjoy the unbeatable ocean scenery. In April and May, the hillside pond adjacent to the visitor center is adorned with an abundance of tiger lilies. Along the surrounding scenic pathways, you can admire the flowery sea swaying in the gentle breeze, creating a picturesque landscape that is truly enchanting. From the visitor center heading north leads to Lingtian Cape, where the northern boundary of the Coastal Mountain Range is located. Here, you can witness the confluence of the Hualien River and the Pacific Ocean, showcasing the stunning "Huilan" scenery, which was also the reason why Hualien Port was once named "Huilan Port." The center has exhibition rooms that introduce the natural and cultural resources of the East Coast Scenic Area, providing relevant information about tourism along the eastern coast, and the multimedia presentation room can accommodate 81 people, allowing visitors to inquire about information before exploring the Hualien coast. The hillside pond next to the visitor center is in the process of replanting tiger lilies, and in April and May, when the lilies bloom, visitors can walk along the scenic pathways to enjoy the sight of white flowers swaying in the breeze, creating a picturesque mountain and ocean scene that is refreshing. From the visitor center heading north, you can walk to Lingtian Cape, where you can see the confluence of the Hualien River and the Pacific Ocean, which produced the "Huilan" scenery, giving rise to the historical name "Huilan Port."
