Lai Lai Geology Park Introduction
The Lailai Geological Area is located on the southern shore of Cape San Diego, the easternmost point of Taiwan, and is an extension of the Xueshan Mountain Range. The term "Lailai" is presumed to be a transliteration from the Basay language. Facing the Pacific Ocean, the geological composition of alternating sandstone and shale, shaped by lava intrusion and years of erosion from ocean waves and winds, has formed a coastal erosion platform that stretches for hundreds of meters. This area boasts rich intertidal ecology and diverse geological landscapes, as well as a distant view of Guishan Island's beauty.
