Cape Santiago - The East of the Border Located at the extreme east of Taiwan, San Diego Corner is characterized by towering boulders along the coast and stunning waves crashing against the cape under a clear blue sky. This unique and beautiful landscape astonished visiting Spanish ships and earned it the exotic old name "Santiago." After being transliterated from Hokkien, we now refer to this place as "San Diego Corner," known for having the first sunrise on the main island of Taiwan. San Diego Lighthouse - The Eye of Taiwan Standing tall at the eastern cape, facing the Pacific Ocean, the lighthouse flashes white and red lights twice every 28 seconds, resembling a girl in a white dress winking at the beautiful sea. Known as "The Eye of Taiwan," the San Diego Lighthouse guides fishermen home at night with its warm light. In addition to being a beacon at sea, it is also a popular tourist attraction with its pure white lighthouse architecture, football-shaped radar, Greek-style pavilion, and heart-shaped installation art. Next to the lighthouse, there is a small arched chapel converted from an oil storage warehouse, featuring a vintage wooden door and colorful glass windows, creating a sweet and romantic atmosphere that attracts many couples for dates and numerous newlyweds for wedding photos, preserving beautiful memories. The elevated position and open view make it a paradise for sunrise lovers and photography enthusiasts. Many people may spend a lot of film around the lighthouse area, but if you continue down the path, there is a secret viewpoint that allows you to enjoy the beautiful waves crashing against the rocks, embracing the stunning scenery where mountains meet the sea and sky. You can also see the winding path, the white lighthouse, and the football-shaped radar station all in one view, making it one of the most beautiful sceneries in San Diego Corner.
