Lingjiushan Wu Sheng Daochang Introduction
Lingjiu Mountain Shengwu Taoist Temple was founded by Master Shangxin Xiadao, the founder of the temple. Standing at the top of the mountain offers a panoramic view of the Northeast Coast, and one can witness the beauty of sunrises and sunsets, making the horizon very expansive. If you see a pair of sharp, penetrating eagle eyes, you have reached the entrance of the temple; these eagle eyes are represented by the most iconic "Heavenly Eye Gate," flanked by stone pillars engraved with totems of various religions. Upon entering the temple, the first thing you will see is a 12-meter tall bronze statue of the Black-faced Avalokiteshvara, which is striking and commands great respect. As you proceed, you will pass through Wenxi Hall, the Guest Hall, Huazang Ocean, and the Buddha Hall, as well as the Five Hundred Arhat Path, where the stone sculptures of the Arhats display varied expressions and postures. Inside the main hall, built of red tiles and stone, is the only jade-faced reclining Buddha in Taiwan. The rear mountain of the temple has a pilgrimage path that leads up to the summit of Laolan Mountain. Another distinctive feature of this place is the 53 pagodas surrounding the temple, known as the "Relics Pagoda Forest," nestled in lush greenery. If you visit in the autumn, you can also witness the unique "Pagoda Forest and Sea of Reeds" autumn scenery. Located on the hillside of Laolan Mountain in Fulong, the temple allows for stunning views of the beautiful coastline of Fulong and the vast Pacific Ocean, as well as close-up views of Bitou Cape and Sandiao Cape's beautiful scenery. Surrounded by mountains and close to the sea, the landscape is elegant and solemn, making it a sacred Buddhist site in northern Taiwan for self-cultivation and spiritual peace.
