Chen Family Friendly Herb Garden Introduction
Since the Morakot typhoon severely impacted the mountainous areas of Kaohsiung, the tourism industry in Jiasian has been greatly affected. As the chief officer of the Jiasian business district and a farm owner for many years, I felt the need for Jiasian to develop new green energy tourism formats to seek niche benefits for residents. Thus, I organized a piece of barren land on a hillside to cultivate organic herbs and hired disadvantaged friends to join in the labor. The herb farm, stretching over 100 meters deep, uses organic symbiotic farming methods and has currently passed the organic transition certification, gaining favor from many chefs in high-end dining establishments. Visiting this friendly farm allows one to learn about various fragrant herbs and experience agricultural life, while the dining experience activities held from time to time also promote another type of in-depth journey in Jiasian.
