Jiaxian Tian Temple Yuan Song Taizu Palace Introduction
Jiaxian Tiantang Yuansong Taizu Temple features two major religious structures: the Tiantang (Heavenly Altar) and the Xinggong (Imperial Palace). The Tiantang is constructed with a boxy round architecture, dedicated to the Supreme Jade Emperor, the Three Holy Buddhas, and the Three Mysterious Saints. The center of the Tiantang is supported by eight dragon columns representing the eight dragons holding up the sky, while the outer edge is surrounded by twelve time columns symbolizing continuous movement. The azure pointed roof symbolizes heaven and presents an impressive sight. The Xinggong houses deities including Song Taizu Zhao Kuangyin, Zhao Guangyi of the Song Dynasty, Bodhidharma, the Eight Treasures Goddess, Lu Xianzu, the Third Prince, and General Tianhu. The entire complex covers an area of 5,000 ping, surrounded by mountains and offering a broad view, making it a famous religious scenic spot in Jiaxian.
