Jiaxianshan Temple Yuan Song Taizu Temple Introduction
Jiaxian Tiantan Yuan Song Taizu Gong consists of two major religious buildings: the Tiantan (Heavenly Altar) and the Xingong (Palace of the Emperor). The Tiantan is constructed in a round box shape, dedicated to the Supreme Emperor, the Three Saints of Buddhism, and the Three Mysterious Holy Ones. The central part of the Tiantan is supported by eight dragon columns, representing the eight dragons holding up the sky, while the outer edge is surrounded by twelve time pillars, symbolizing continuous rotation. The blue pointed roof symbolizes heaven and conveys a grand atmosphere. Inside the Xingong, offerings are made to Song Taizu Zhao Kuangyin, as well as Zhao Guangyi, the Second Group of the Song Dynasty, Patriarch Bodhidharma, the Eight Treasures Goddess, Master Lü, the Third Prince, and General Tianhu. The entire area spans an impressive 5,000 ping, surrounded by mountains and offering a spacious view, making it a famous religious scenic spot in Jiaxian.
