Jiaxian Tian Temple, Emperor Taizu of Song Palace Introduction
Jiaxian Tiandian Yuan Song Taizu Temple consists of two major religious buildings: the Tiandian (Heavenly Altar) and the Xinggong (Palace of Pilgrimage). The Tiandian is constructed in a circular architecture and is dedicated to the Supreme Emperor of Heaven, the Three Holy Buddhas, and the Three Mysterious Holy Deities. The center of the Tiandian is supported by eight dragon pillars, symbolizing the Eight Dragons Holding Up the Sky, while the outer edges are surrounded by twelve time pillars, representing continuous operation. Its sky-blue pointed top symbolizes heaven, creating a magnificent atmosphere. The Xinggong enshrines Song Taizu Zhao Kuangyin, Zhao Guangyi of the Song Dynasty, Patriarch Bodhidharma, the Eight Treasures Goddess, Master Lü, the Third Prince, and General Tianhu. The entire area spans 5,000 ping, surrounded by mountains with a broad view, making it a famous religious landscape in Jiaxian.
