Yuli Sweetflavor Story House Introduction

The evaluation period is valid from April 29, 2024, to April 28, 2027. The giant taro (known as 月桃 in Mandarin) holds profound significance for our company's founder, Mr. He Yong-Wei. In the 1940s, before he went to school, he made money by cutting giant taro plants. Every part of the giant taro can be utilized; the leaves can be used for wrapping sticky rice dumplings and as food ingredients, and they can also be extracted for processed materials. The leaf sheath can serve as a material for ropes, which early fishermen used to make fishing nets and traps; the flowers can be used as food spices. The seeds, known as "tucharen," are the main raw material for making herbal sweets; the rhizomes can also be used as food spices and traditional Chinese medicine, among other uses. The giant taro possesses strong vitality and can grow in the harshest environments. It can be found on cliffs and by the seaside, showing that every part of it has value, much like us Taiwanese who take root and thrive—smart, hardworking, and wise, merely in need of discovery. With advancements in technology, the use of supercritical CO2 extraction technology has revealed multiple valuable components of giant taro. Huashi Company has accumulated over 30 years of experience in developing everyday and skincare products, investing in supercritical extraction, water extraction, and 10,000-level cleanroom production and R&D equipment. We collaborate with National Chiayi University, Chiayi University of Science and Technology, Chia Cheng Center, and the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre to develop giant taro series products or utilize various local specialty plants. This initiative further allows the public to recognize the ecological stories of these unique plants, bringing innovative economics into daily life and establishing a healthy, sustainable, and enjoyable lifestyle. Hence, the Giant Taro Story Museum was born.
