【Evaluation Validity Period: 2025/04/09~2028/04/08】 This factory was established in 1977 and produces various fruit wines, as well as whiskey and brandy. Since the launch of the product promotion center in 2005, it has been open to visitors year-round, except for New Year's Eve, providing a selection of wines and personalized commemorative wine services, making it a versatile recreational winery with Taiwanese characteristics. Nantou Distillery is the factory of Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation that produces fruit wines. In 1973, in accordance with the directive from the Chairperson of the Taiwan Provincial Government, Mr. Hsieh Tung-min, the factory was established to expand the use of the province's abundant fruits for producing fruit wines to increase the market for fruits and the income of fruit farmers. Construction began in March 1975, and the factory name was approved by the Provincial Chairperson as Taiwan Provincial Tobacco and Liquor Monopoly Bureau Nantou Distillery. The factory was completed in July 1977 and started producing high-quality fruit wines made from pineapple and starfruit as the main ingredients. Since 1978, it has taken over the procurement of winemaking grapes from Taipei Distillery (now known as Linkou Distillery, formerly Taipei First Distillery) for producing grape wine and brandy, and subsequently began producing lychee wine, black plum wine, plum wine, as well as rum and whiskey, making this factory a specialized producer of fruit wines such as grape wine. In July 2002, the Taiwan Provincial Tobacco and Liquor Monopoly Bureau was restructured into a corporation, and this factory was renamed Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation Nantou Distillery. This factory is the only producer of fruit wines for the Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation, with different departments responsible for production, research and development, quality control, equipment maintenance, health and safety, warehouse management, and administrative support, employing around 200 staff members. The factory implements a comprehensive quality management system, has passed international quality management and environmental management system evaluations, and adheres to the management philosophy of "pursuing perfect quality, providing satisfactory service, striving for excellent development, and fulfilling social responsibilities," the quality policy of "full participation, economically effective, customer satisfaction, and creating innovative value," the environmental policy of "complying with environmental regulations, reducing pollution, continuously improving the environment, and conserving energy resources," and the health and safety policy of "identifying, assessing, and controlling potential hazards, complying with government health and safety regulations, and continuously improving to establish a comprehensive health and safety management system." Utilizing the abundant local fruit products, advanced winemaking equipment, and scientific winemaking technology, the factory produces high-quality fruit wine products that best suit the tastes of the populace, serving the general public. ♦ Excessive drinking is harmful to health ♦ ♦ Do not drink and drive, and do not drive after drinking ♦ ♦ No drinking for those under 18 years old ♦
