Zhongxing New Village Introduction
Located in the northern part of Nantou City, Chung Hsing New Village preserves much of the charm of the old military dependents' village. It was formerly the site of the provincial government and is Taiwan's second new town after the war. The community has many historical traces worth exploring, such as the "Chung Hsing Hall," known for its resemblance to the White House, with an eye-catching European architectural style; the "Seventh Branch of Chung Hsing Post Office," featuring a spectacular large wall of stamps displaying over three hundred stamps issued in the past; and "Provincial Government Daily Stroll," which revitalizes old buildings into trendy shops that integrate local characteristics. With many saplings planted, the "Avenue of Trees" in Chung Hsing New Village has become an impressive landmark, showcasing a rich blend of culture and nature.
