Dawan Leisure Agriculture Area Introduction
The Daan Leisure Agricultural Area in Daan Village, Yuchi Township, Nantou, is an agricultural tourism zone primarily characterized by the cultivation of black tea, especially renowned for its high-quality "Assam black tea" and "Ruby red tea". After experiencing significant destruction from the 921 earthquake, residents actively participated in community reconstruction and overall development, promoting organic black tea cultivation and successfully creating a high-end tea-producing area with brand value. The Daan Leisure Agricultural Area encompasses communities such as Xianzhajiao and Sheshui, where the area is often shrouded in mist and enjoys a cool and pleasant climate, nurturing rich flavors of black tea and abundant natural ecology. The aromatic black tea from Sheshui Community attracts many tourists for tea tasting and experiencing tea plantation life. Within the area is the famous Jinlong Mountain, standing at approximately 820 meters above sea level, which is a well-known low-altitude spot for viewing sunrise and sea of clouds in central Taiwan, making it a favorite destination for photographers capturing the beauty of dawn. In addition to tea plantation experiences, the Daan Agricultural Area also actively promotes ecological tourism and farm tour activities, such as the "Shui Shui Bai Cha Xiang" tour, which combines a stroll along the Sheshui Forest Trail, tea tasting, fish and shrimp ecological exploration, and passion fruit farming experiences, allowing visitors to deeply appreciate the beauty of rural life and natural ecology. These activities are typically held from October to December each year and are suitable for families and nature lovers. Local farmers adhere to the hand-picking method of one bud and two leaves for tea picking, developing several personal brands like Sheshui Royal Tea, Black Tea Workshop, and Forest Black Tea, ensuring excellent and diversified quality, injecting vitality and competitiveness into the Daan Leisure Agricultural Area.
